About the Role:

The Technology Project Manager is an important senior role within the Moncel technology function. This person will work inside the Technology department but will report to the Head of PMO. As a result, the Technology Project Manager will be a member of both the PMO team and the Technology team.

The Technology team is separated into two sub-teams – Business Systems and Product Systems. The Technology Project Manager will work closely with both the Head of Business Systems and the Head of Product Systems along with other members of the leadership team to develop project plans from strategic roadmaps. They will be the primary person responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all projects through to release as well as day-to-day technical tasks. They will also be responsible for the management of the Moncel Jira platform. The Technology Project Manager will be required to attend in person meetings at our Toronto office a few times a year.

What You Have:

  • Proficient in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Experience with project planning, roadmap development, scheduling, resource allocation, and execution
  • Advanced skills in configuring and managing Jira Software and Jira Service Management
  • Proficiency with Atlassian Confluence for documentation and collaboration
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices, including source control, release management, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and their integration into project management
  • Understanding of software development processes and technology stacks similar to that used at Moncel
  • Skills in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks
  • Proficient in helping implement quality assurance processes, automated testing, and quality standards
  • Ability to produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation including utilizing diagramming tools for process mapping and visualization
  • Knowledge of change management principles and methodologies, important for guiding teams through technology and process changes
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to work with stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements in order to produce requirements documentation

Your Qualifications:

5+ Years Project Management:

  • Proven experience in managing technology projects from inception to completion, ideally in a similar industry or with similar technology stacks
  • Familiarity with managing projects in both Agile, Waterfall & Hybrid environments
  • Extensive experience building project plans and developing long-term roadmaps

3+ Years Jira and Atlassian:

  • Hands-on experience at an advanced level with Jira for project tracking, issue tracking, and project management
  • Proficiency in using Confluence for documentation and collaboration

1+ Years DevOps Process Management:

  • Experience in integrating DevOps practices into project management, understanding the nuances of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and other DevOps methodologies

Software Development Lifecycle:

  • Understanding of and experience with the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance

Risk Management and QA:

  • Demonstrated experience in risk management, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks
  • Experience implementing QA/testing processes and standards relevant to technology projects

Business & Technical Documentation:

  • Experience in creating and managing both business and technical documentation, ensuring clarity and comprehensiveness

Change Management:

  • Experience in leading or significantly contributing to change management initiatives, particularly related to technology and process changes

Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management:

  • Proven track record of leading technical teams, mentoring junior staff, and effectively managing stakeholder relationships

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Experience in data analysis related to project performance, resource allocation, and creating detailed reports and dashboards for stakeholders
