Department Overview:
The West Software Deployment and Integration team delivers solutions to public safety customers from the state of Washington, and Alaska to the South West States of Arizona and Texas and all those states in between and all states in between. We are committed to providing solutions that will allow customers to focus on their mission, and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. We deploy and support products such as Computer-Aided Dispatch, Records Management Systems, Jail Management Systems, and Mobile Data Computing, among other offerings.
Job Description:
Motorola Solutions is building talent pipelines to meet future hiring demands. This is a pipeline role, while there is not an immediate opening, we want to build relationships with prospective candidates like you. Manages the development and/or implementation of Motorola Solutions products or services. Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgraded existing products or services. Manages projects from inception to completion (or transition), including tracking and evaluation of project performance. Ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and within accepted quality metrics. Participates in project review and status meetings, and communicates project status. Utilizes project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness. Motivates project team to ensure optimal performance. May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous Project Management experience preferred.
- Demonstrated competency with a project management tool (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet)
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills are necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to collaborate with internal and external business/technical teams.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Highly organized, structured, and process oriented; team building skills a plus.
- Able to simplify a complex situation and provide update accordingly.
- Certified PMI PMP will be an advantage.
- Ability to pass a background check
- Understanding of public safety customers, such as police, fire and emergency medical services.
- Experience with Motorola Software Solutions, P1, Aware, FLEX is a plus.
This position is a remote position, but due to travel requirements, candidates must be located in Texas or Arizona.
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice’s “Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy” and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- OR 4+ years of project management experience
- Candidates must be located in Texas or Arizona.
- Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
