Software Engineer

Anrok’s cutting-edge platform seamlessly integrates with various billing and payment systems, streamlining sales tax monitoring, registration, reconciliation, and filing across multiple jurisdictions.

As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with coworkers to deeply understand customer needs, design thoughtful systems that solve real-world problems, and build best-in-class product experiences. Our stack is TypeScript (frontend and backend), Postgres, and React, but prior experience is not required.

In this role, you will:

• Own the scoping, design, and development of product features
• Identify and fix bugs and technical debt
• Collaborate with Support to address technical issues for customers

What excites us:

• You have a strong technical background, with 7+ years of experience working as a software engineer and 4+ years of experience building web application backend
• Experience with frontend development is a plus, but not required
• You think through problems thoroughly to ensure we’re building the right solution to the right problem at the right time, and you will push back when necessary
• Your designs take into account current and future needs, technical debt, and maintenance, and you can clearly articulate the tradeoffs
• You level up the people around you by sharing your knowledge and experience

For employees based in the San Francisco Bay Area, we follow a hybrid model. Where we come into the office 3 days a week to collaborate in person. For employees located outside of the San Francisco Bay Area, you will work remotely full-time.
