Cyber Security Analyst

Position Overview: As a Cyber Security Analyst at Avid technology, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our digital assets, systems, and networks. You will be responsible for identifying potential security risks, implementing protective measures, analyzing security incidents, and contributing to the overall security posture of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor, respond to, and analyze security alerts, events, and incidents in real time to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Prepare detailed incident reports
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement security measures, protocols, and best practices.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of incident response plans, ensuring rapid and effective responses to security incidents.
• Grow expertise with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and anti-malware solutions.
• Stay up to date with the latest cyber security trends, threats, and industry best practices, and apply this knowledge to enhance our security posture.
• Provide guidance and training to employees on security awareness, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to security incidents as needed, ensuring 24/7 coverage.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation related to security policies and procedures.
• Assist security engineers in projects
• Write detailed incident response reports.
• Work with other IT teams on deployment and monitoring of patching

Qualifications:

• The ability to think critically and innovatively about the security solutions that can keep data safe while still allowing a business to flourish.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience is preferred
• Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, GSEC, Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
• 1-3 years of progressive experience working in cyber security roles, with a strong understanding of security principles, protocols, and technologies.
• Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solutions, and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Familiarity with penetration testing, network security, and the techniques used to expose and correct security flaws
• Operational knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex security issues.
• Desktop troubleshooting skills and system administration
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high level of security and confidentiality.
