About Prison Fellowship
Prison Fellowship is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the incarcerated and their families, as well as advocating for criminal justice reform. With a mission rooted in faith-based principles, Prison Fellowship aims to bring hope and restoration to individuals impacted by incarceration, fostering transformation and reconciliation within communities across the United States.
Through a variety of programs and initiatives, Prison Fellowship addresses the multifaceted needs of those affected by the criminal justice system. These include:
- Prison Ministry: Volunteers and staff members engage with incarcerated individuals through mentoring, Bible studies, and other spiritual and educational resources, offering support and guidance to promote personal growth and rehabilitation.
- Family Ministries: Recognizing the profound impact of incarceration on families, Prison Fellowship provides support and resources to help strengthen family bonds and facilitate healing for children and spouses of the incarcerated.
- Advocacy and Reform: Prison Fellowship advocates for policies and practices that promote justice, fairness, and redemption within the criminal justice system. Through legislative advocacy, public awareness campaigns, and grassroots efforts, Prison Fellowship seeks to bring about positive change and ensure that individuals are given opportunities for redemption and restoration.
- Reentry Support: Upon release, formerly incarcerated individuals often face numerous challenges in reintegrating into society. Prison Fellowship offers reentry programs and support services to help individuals successfully transition back into their communities, providing assistance with employment, housing, and other essential needs.
- Victim Ministries: Recognizing the importance of addressing the needs of victims of crime, Prison Fellowship offers support and resources to help victims heal and find closure, while also promoting forgiveness and reconciliation where appropriate.
Through its holistic approach to ministry and advocacy, Prison Fellowship seeks to break the cycle of crime and incarceration, promote healing and restoration, and build safer and more just communities for all. With a commitment to serving those impacted by incarceration with compassion, dignity, and respect, Prison Fellowship continues to make a positive impact on individuals, families, and communities nationwide.
