Sales Engineer
The Sales Engineer III is responsible for using technical knowledge of Inductive Automation’s product offerings to support the Sales team by providing excellent service to the company’s customers, guiding implementation based on customer requirements and executing strategies to grow sales. They analyze customers’ technical specifications, recommend the best product configuration and installation processes as well as estimate implementation effort, time and resources. The Sales Engineer III develops and delivers technical demonstrations and education, architectures and best practices to Inductive Automation’s end-users and Integrators to grow customer loyalty. This is a full-time position with remote, hybrid and on-site opportunities available.

Responsibilities:
- Providing end-users, integrators, and customers technical demonstrations and web demos; including demonstrations of Ignition, answering technical questions and architecture discussions
- Hosting Lunch and Learns for Integrators, educating them on specific features of Ignition
- Assisting customers with questionnaires of RFPs
- Providing solution support to end-users, integrators, and customers to ensure they have the knowledge needed to successfully thrive using Ignition software
- Attending various conferences and tradeshows with Public Relations division; travel may be required
- Assisting with Ignition Benchmark Testing
- Building Ignition Exchange resources
- Having the ability to work with enterprise accounts
- Continuing to work on building a sales pipeline
- Proactively working with integrators to move them through the levels of the company’s integration program and do more projects
- Proactively fostering Ignition growth within targeted end-users
- Assisting with internal trainings and projects
- Directly managing enterprise contract customers
- Aiding in the support and training of distributors
- Participating in OEM discussions
- Speaking at events and conferences, including the Ignition Community Conference
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering and at least 4-7+ years of programming and/or database experience OR 4-7+ years of programming and/or database experience
- Certifications such as: programming bootcamps, cloud infrastructure or networking and 2-4 years of experience in these areas
- Experience with Ignition and familiarity with Ignition modules and architectures
- Ability to provide a basic technical demonstration
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Pay:
Based on the Sacramento region, the new hires minimum and maximum yearly target compensation for this role is $140k – $160k.
Inductive Automation’s ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Although it is not typical for an individual to start at the top end of the range for the position, compensation decisions are dependent on: the facts and circumstances of each case, work location, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs.
