The Role:

Hone is looking for a Senior WordPress Developer to join our team. In this role, you will report to the Senior Director of Software Development. We are seeking a talented and experienced developer who will play a key role in developing and maintaining honehealth.com using WordPress, ensuring optimal performance, and incorporating industry-leading SEO strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to) the following:

WordPress Development:

  • Lead the development of WordPress websites, ensuring functionality, responsiveness, and a seamless user experience.
  • Build and maintain custom themes, blocks, templates, and plugins to help meet our business requirements.
  • Enhance website functionality by integrating with third-party APIs and services.

Performance Optimization:

  • Optimize website speed, performance, and overall user experience.
  • Implement caching mechanisms and other performance-enhancing techniques.

SEO Strategy Implementation:

  • Implement SEO best practices throughout the website to increase organic traffic and search engine rankings.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical SEO issues affecting website performance in search engine results.

Hosting and Security

  • Deploy and manage WordPress instances in Microsoft Azure (or a similar cloud service), optimizing for performance and scalability.
  • Ensure the security and stability of WordPress sites.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, content creators, and marketing specialists, to align website development with overall business goals.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers.

Qualifications:

In order to qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Proven experience as a WordPress Developer with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
  • Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
  • Proficient in custom theme and plugin development.
  • Experience with optimizing WordPress sites and PHP servers for high traffic.
  • Familiarity with CDN services and configurations (e.g., Azure Front Door, Cloudflare).
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices, including on-page and off-page optimization.
  • Expertise in Google indexability, search console, and resolving technical SEO issues.
  • A solid understanding of UX/UI best practices for websites.
  • Experience with hosting (e.g., Azure, WP Engine, etc) and server management.
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Moz).
  • Proficient in version control (Git).
  • Experience with essential plugins such as Advanced Custom Fields, Yoast, and Gravity Forms.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adhere to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset.
  • Can quickly learn new technology systems and communication tools.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.

Salary Range:

Salary is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected hiring salary for this position is: $100,000 – $120,000.
