QA Lead

FLEETCOR is currently looking to hire a QA Lead who will you work closely with the QA Team, Development and PM teams to maintain a top level of quality in software systems. Members of the QA Team will report directly to the QA Lead.

Role Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Supervise, manage, train and mentor your team members from Automation and Scrum Teams.
  • Plan the features to be automated and review the test cases before assigning them to the team.
  • Review and approve Pull Requests in bitbucket
  • Create or suggest new tools and frameworks to support test automation.
  • Recommend innovative ideas to reduce manual effort and increase the code coverage.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
  • Create QA test artifacts (Test Strategy, Test Matrix, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, Test Results).
  • Review/clarify requirements, propose Acceptance Criteria.
  • Help QA Team members with test planning and strategy.
  • Review functional and regression test cases and suggest improvements to ensure that all scenarios are covered.
  • Ensure that the testing efforts are completed on time.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases (functional, UI, API, Integration, Regression, UAT testing).
  • Install and set up tools, environments.
  • Investigate issues (found during test efforts or reported from production), log them into Jira and escalate.
  • Verify and review confluence documentation and other artefacts from QA Team.
  • Develop and establish quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and enhancements to existing applications throughout their development lifecycles.
  • Ensure that processes are adhered to and provide suggestions or improvements.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT systems and projects.
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
  • Review the performance of your reports, set goals and provide feedback.
  • Analyze logs, recommend improvements and compile reports based on findings.
  • Participate in and initiate project release planning/delivery efforts.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership for the other test team members.
  • Act as a tireless promoter for test excellence and test automation.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience manual tests in such areas as functional, regression, integration, user interface, performance and scalability testing
  • 3+ years of experience in a Lead role, supervising a team of 5 QA Analysts or more.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (eg. Selenium 2, Selenium 3, Selenium Grid, SoapUI, Browser Stack, QuickTest Professional, Rational Functional Tester, SilkTest, Visual Studio Test Professional, Eclipse, TestNG, Maven, JUnit);
  • Experience in writing SQL queries and scripts;
  • Experience in working in an agile software development team using scrum;
  • Experience in Java, Javascript, C#, VB, HTML, CSS;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent;
  • Experience in payments industry is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and inter-personal skills;
  • Highly developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficient in writing test cases and identifying test scenarios;
  • Ability to prioritize work with a focus on deadlines and deliverables;
  • Good team player with ability to solve complex tasks and recognize and escalate risks without supervision;
  • Demonstrate a high level of productivity, responsibility, and influence (from previous positions)
