Project Manager – Audit

Findex currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with external Audit experience to join our Operational Efficiency team and working closely with the Project Management Office (PMO). This is a permanent, full-time position, which offers the flexibility to work anywhere in Australia for the right person.

You will be actively involved in the execution, oversight and management of Audit efficiency through Operational efficiency projects. The objective of these projects is to improve net margin/cost to serve and ensure regulatory compliance. This position requires a high level of expertise in corporate project management and a thorough understanding of audit processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

You will work with a team focused on delivering strategic projects from planning through to implementation whilst partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure we achieve success.

What your key deliverables will be:

  • Understand current Findex Ways of Working, identify areas of improvement and operational efficiency gains in the Audit processes.
  • Apply technical Audit knowledge in the development of project deliverables, research and build business cases, lead the audit approach, methodology, work papers (as appropriate), and other artefacts to ensure effective roll out and optimisation of efficiency goals.
  • Ensure systems and procedures meet the requirements of the Auditing Standard, Accounting Standards and any other legislation
  • Ensure successful implementation of change into the Audit team via a strong focus on Change Management
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, particularly around the implementation and approval of changes to the Crowe Audit Approach, manage co-sourced relationships and engagements

Let’s Talk About You:

To be successful you will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Bachelor or degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting + advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are a plus
  • Strong Project Management expertise, including exemplary stakeholder management skills, with the ability to plan, organise and manage multiple Audit projects simultaneously to time, budget and scope, whilst working with team members and non-direct reports.
  • Proven experience as a manager in the external audit field, experience in external project reviews and change initiatives with a significant technology component, In-depth knowledge of audit methodologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., AASB, ASA, Corporation Act (AU and NZ)
  • Proficiency in the use of audit software and tools
  • Previous experience with mid or large audit business, strong analytical ability including the ability to analyse data, system and procedures
